Drinking in moderation is the first and foremost way to prevent a hangover, but even if you over-indulge there are a number of helpful things you can do:

  • Hydrate, hydrate and hydrate more – dehydration is one of the major causes of the hangover sensation so if you can drink a glass of water before, after, and in-between drinks you will be much better off the next day
  • Make sure your belly is full – Drinking excess alcohol on an empty stomach is an easy way for you to jump on the express train to hangover town. Eating before, during, and after drinking will help curb the negative effects of alcohol.
  • Pace yourself – Drinking too much too fast will make you feel terrible in the morning. Space your drinks out so you don’t get too drunk and feel horrendous the next day.
